Sitecore Symposium 2022 became a huge success where more than 10000 Sitecore enthusiasts across the globe attended the event in person and virtually. Being the first in-person event after the pandemic, this year Sitecore Symposium had its own charm and excitement.  This was a much-awaited 4th in-person Sitecore Symposium event, organized at McCormick Place, Chicago from 17-20th October with over 100+ sessions by Sitecore experts.

The theme for Sitecore Symposium 2022 ‘Meet Every Moment’ was focused primarily on this study, understanding what exactly the businesses are doing, what customers are looking for at every moment and how their demands and expectations can be fulfilled. 

World’s biggest brands came together to showcase how they’ve met every moment. They discussed the possibilities of innovation in various solutions that helped them build customer loyalty in the digital world.

Sitecore Symposium 2022: Day 1 Highlights

Steve Tzikakis- We, at Sitecore, will work to improve businesses 1% at a time

Sitecore’s CEO Steve Tzikakis took the stage to thank all the attendees for showing up and spoke about how the world’s largest brands can beat the competition through Sitecore’s modern, composable, SaaS strategy. With an aim of helping businesses improve 1% at a time, Steve made a huge and exciting announcement about the launch of three Sitecore products that would bring significant transformation in simplifying processes for businesses. With the launch of these solutions, Steve addressed the top 3 complexities that businesses need to focus on.

Acknowledging the dedication and hard work put in by Sitecore for months, Steve announced the launch of:

  1. Content Hub One- A fast, agile and headless CMS that helps sharing of content across channels
  2. Sitecore Search- An advanced search solution to answers all the questions of businesses and can work in a stand-alone fashion.
  3. Sitecore Connect- An integration platform that connects with other Sitecore solutions to make every experience a cake walk.

Paige O’Neill’s keynote on embracing the digital world but still navigating for opportunities

Sitecore’s CMO Paige O’Neill took everyone’s attention with her insightful talk about unlocking human potential with the power of technology. She addressed the audience by asking the most relevant question that defines the purpose of Sitecore Symposium 2022- ‘What moment are we in? What are our customers looking for? What do we need to do to get there?’ Here’s how she emphasized on the importance of being on point with the content strategy game.

While Paige appreciates how we’ve dealt with the tough times and embraced the digital world for the betterment of businesses, she explained that meeting customer demands is still the top priority. She highlighted how brands can dial into every moment and look into the future with three things in mind:

  1. Mute the Noise- 71% relate better to authentic brands, says Forrester. Consumers are willing to connect with brands and believe in authenticity. Hence, brands should focus on being authentic for meaningful connections.
  2. Stand Out- Brands need to stand out by being one step ahead of their competitors. With the transforming way of content consumption from whitepapers to videos, TikTok is more popular than Google for content search. Hence, along with being authentic, brands need to think of being unique.
  3. Build Boldly- Metaverse is going to be the real deal breaker. Brands can be bold and evolve early by focusing on Augmented Reality (AR) to create an experience using Metaverse-like environment. 8 of the 10 largest tech companies are investing billions in the Metaverse.

Day 2 Highlights- 19 October

Guest keynote speaker- Mindy Kaling’s take on bringing your real version at work every day!

In the guest keynote on day 2, Sitecore CMO Paige O’Neill sat down with Emmy-nominated writer, producer, New York Times best-selling author, director, and actor Mindy Kaling to discuss about being inspired at work and showing up every day to achieve what you deserve. Mindy had a lot to share about her journey in the world of entertainment and how she figured out what she wanted in life. She inspired the young generation to show up at work and be ready to hear and be heard to get a perspective about life and aspirations. It had indeed been an inspiring session for everyone in the room to focus on women empowerment and growing together as a community.
